J. Jimenez – Candidate for Treasurer
Jose Jimenez has been a Union member for twenty-three years. He graduated from Drummond Elementary School and Wells Community Academy High School. While attending Wright College, he returned to Wells High School to volunteer. Mr. Jimenez later was hired as a Professional School Related Personnel. He has been working with the school’s budget for the past sixteen years. As a school payroll clerk, he ensures that all financial records are accurate and monies are dispersed accordingly.
J’s union involvement includes the following:
-Served as a CTU Delegate for seven years
-Active member with the AFT/IFT
-Attended the 2006 PSRP Union Delegates Conference in Washington, DC
- Nominee for the 2006 Kathy Osterman Award
-Attended the 2007 IFT/PSRP Conference as a delegate in Las Vegas, NV
-Attended the 2008 AFT/PSRP Conference in Washington, DC
-Participated in various committees and fundraiser for the CTU and the CSDU
-Member of the Professional Problems Committee
-Recipient of the 2009 Union Activist Award
-Served as a District Supervisor for the union house meetings
J. believes that the P.S.R.P’S are a vital component to a school’s success. It is important to him that school related personnel receive the same job security and benefits as teachers.
