As recording-secretary, accurate documentation during contract negotiations is vital and the accuracy of meeting minutes is important to ensure that the business of the Union is followed through for the members. As the secretary to the local school council, I was accountable to the LSC to provide this information in a precise and timely manner. I will do the same as Recording Secretary for the CTU.

I have been concerned for some time with the direction and management of the Chicago Teachers Union. Transparency and accountability to the members is a must, democracy needs to be restored at the House of Delegates meetings and most importantly the members need to come first! I have demonstrated these leadership qualities as a delegate representing my school and will continue to lead in this way as an officer of the union.
